The NorthEast of America

The NorthEast is the oldest region in America and consists of New England and the Mid Atlantic States. New England is again devided into 6 states. These states are Connecticut, Rhode Island (the smallest state in the US), Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine (the northernmost state on the mainland). The region though comprises nine states. New York City is the biggest city in the United States, and is also a part of the region, such as Washington DC (district of Colombia).

The Northeastern United States is bounded to the north by Canada, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean to the south by the American South, and to the west by the American Midwest. The Census-defined region occupies a total area of 181,324 sq mi.

Climate for the northeast region is all different. There are cool to hot summers and very cold winters. The yearly precipitation for the northeast region is about 46 inches in a year. That includes rainfall and snowfall.

The stereotype of the Northeast region is today often referred as hardworking, liberal, inventive and imaginative. Many of these factors is adopted from the Puritan settlers. The regions is considered as very multicultural, with its millions of immigrants.  Although it is a small region geographically, it is the richest region of the US. The culture is various, the region includes everything from theatres to art galleries and prestigious universities.

The United States of America

The United States of America

USA is also known as America which is not unusual since USA stands for the United States of America. The capital of the US is Washington DC (District of Colombia). The country is not like other countries. North- America is devided into 50 states. These 50 states represents 50 stars at the American flag.

Before I knew different people who lived in USA, I would say that an average american would look fat and lazy. This because of all the incredible fast food restaurants they have created. Mc Donalds, KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), Subway and Wendys are some examples. Though not all of the 313 847 465 inhabitants looks this way.

Other things I associate with America is the Apple products, (which I belive is the greatest tecnological device of the century), different amazing cars like Ford and Chevrolet, and longboarding (especially California).

Besides being the coolest country in the world (though I have never been there), USA have got an amazing president. Barack Obama, which is the first black president in Americas history, have just been re-elected for 4 more years. I think that Obama is a very smart and succesfull president. He is also a democrat.

The age limit for voting in America is 18. Drinking is 21 and for driving you have to be 16 years old.

That was some real facts about the US, but how about some fun facts?

-Jimmy Carter was the first president born in a hospital.
-Smokeing weed is legal in 2 states
-The average person in the States uses 80-100 gallons of water each day
-There are no poisonous snakes in Maine
-The world’s highest roller coaster is located in Ohio
-The first US capital was New York City
-California grows more food than any other state
-The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has enough steel wire in the cables to circle the earth's equator in 3.5 times
